October 8th's Full Moon

The full moon peaked at 6:51 this morning. Ever since the last lunar eclipse on Silkworm's birthday, we've been looking forward to another to be able to compare with the first. And as we suspected, just like last time, nothing happened this time. Though it's not always the best idea to predict things about Silkworm's magic, it seems evident enough to say lunar eclipses block out the moon's effect on Silkworm. I still think we'll prepare for lunar eclipse full moons the same way we prepare for any other just in case, but maybe after five or ten uneventful ones, we'll feel safe sleeping through them.

  1. I'm sure it's a mix of relief and "awwww man..." when nothing ends up happening! Happy full moon to you both : )

  2. I'm so in love with this photo! It's so gorgeous :) Unfortunately it was way too cloudy to see the eclipse here which makes me super sad as I was really looking forward to it! :(

    1. Oh, we couldn't see it either. </3 This photo is just the light on our garage shining through the raindrops on our window looking quite magical. But that's two eclipses in a row we've missed because of the weather, and it's always clear skies the day after and the day before. Fingers crossed for next time!

  4. It's so interesting because usually I'm the one who can't see it but this time I feel like I'm the only one who saw it! It was barely red, but I really enjoyed getting to see an eclipse for the first time in years. :)

    Uncustomary Art.

    1. You lucky duck! I always miss anything astronmy-ish; every meteor shower this year was behind the clouds, every full moon was at least partly cloudy, and all the special moons were totally overcast. Hopefully whenever the next special night sky happens, we'll have luck on our side. Glad you got to see this one! ^-^

Silkworm and I love hearing what other people think. In fact, it's probably our favorite thing, so don't be shy to leave us a note or ask a question!
