Mission of Magic: Orgiami Dragons in the Woods

Silkworm and I took a very special bike ride yesterday afternoon to hang twenty-five origami dragons in the woods of our favorite park, which was also the location for the first Mission of Magic we posted about on Zauberbear. The trees were so creaky squeaky, it was as if they were trying to bend over out of curiosity to get a look at what we were adorning them with!

As worth it as it was, and as successful as we felt upon returning home, I will be so happy when I finally have my driver's license and we can take a five-minute drive there and back easy peasy. I will always cherish our bike rides and we will never stop venturing on them, but I'd like them to be calm and pleasant, as opposed to eyes-darting-heart-racing chaos that requires thirteen gallons of artificial courage coursing through my veins. I will love not having to be ferociously brave to ride in the shoulder on a 50mph highway and cross the scariest intersections. I will drive myself and Silkworm to the park time and time again and we will bike to the beach at the end to eat breakfast during sunrise or dinner during sunset. It is going to be wonderful.

(My road test is in two days; wish me luck!)

NOTE: We're going back within the next couple days to take the dragons down. I don't want them becoming litter and upsetting anyone; that would defeat the whole purpose!

  4. Good luck with the test! This is such a cool idea, it would bring a smile to any passerby's face. (Jeez, looking up if "passerby's" was right was hard...Need another word, haha.)

    1. Thank you! I like the word passerby, and whether it's grammatically correct or not, it sounded rather quirky and it made me smile to read it. :)

  5. Ok so I already said it in Mary's comments (just read her post and listened to your song) and in my own, but I'm impressed by the song you wrote, the feel of it is light and happy. Sometimes you can't say something enough :)

    1. Eek, thank you so much, Marielle! Mary's the kind of girl who needs a theme song, isn't she? And it was so much fun to write, I wanna go around writing theme songs for everybody now!

(If anyone's curious, she's talking about a song I wrote for the marvelous Mary of Uncustomary! http://www.uncustomary.org/uncustomary-the-song/)

    1. THANK YOU I PASSED. ♥

I think the trees were actually a little upset about their decorations because when Silkworm and I went to retrieve them, most of the branches we tied them to had broken off? I don't know if it was before or after we tied them, we didn't inspect the branches close enough the first time, but it was weird!

  8. Your blog is magical! The flavour of my soup has become much more palatable after reading your blog. I admire your photographs, your silkworm, your words, everything. It is like opening a story book and being encouraged to read each page over and over again.

All the best to you and Silkworm!

Silkworm and I love hearing what other people think. In fact, it's probably our favorite thing, so don't be shy to leave us a note or ask a question!
